Tax Credit Extended

Posted on July 6, 2010

On Friday, July 2nd, President Obama signed into law bills that extend the closing deadline for buyers claiming the federal homebuyer tax credit.  This bill had been passed the Senate by a unanimous vote last Wednesday.

HR 5623 known as The Homebuyer Assistance and Improvement Act of 2010 gives homebuyers who were under contract by April 30, 2010 until September 30th, 2010 (instead of June 30th) to close their home purchases and claim the federal tax credit assuming they meet the other eligibility requirements.

This is a great relief to thousands of homebuyers who would have missed the original June 30th closing deadline due to the increased timeframe waiting for third party approval such as short sales waiting for bank approval, etc.

Record Low Interest Rates

Posted on June 4, 2010

Excellent news...interest rates are at all time lows again!

One lender emailed me to say his 30 year fixed dropped to 4.625% with no buy down.  The same lender went on to say his super conforming rates for a sale price up to $567,500 are currently at 5% and may even drop lower.

Did you know  that for every .25% improvement in rates it is the same as a 2.5% discount in home price, in terms of monthly payments? You potentially get a 2.5% discount on a home you wish to buy, at least for today.

I love Sammamish, but I didn't know that Money Magazine thought so highly of it.
Money Magazine lists Sammamish, WA as #12 in  a list of top places to live.  A few of the reasons given are the beautiful parks, outdoor activities and proximity to high tech jobs and Lake Sammamish.
